Aim of the project

The main aim of the Project was to promote the enhancement of professional and scientific research competences of students and educators of the tourism postgraduate programme.

Main activities of the project

  1. Development and piloting a programme for students’ professional enhancement tours to the international tourism fair ITB 2012 including research elements;
  2. Worked out criteria for assessment of tourism organisations and enterprises performance in international tourism fairs;
  3. Piloting of the assessment system of criteria developed including research part in the joint students’ tour to ITB 2012 (7-11 March) by carrying out an assessment of participation of the Latvian exhibition stand;
  4. Worked out recommendations for successful participation of Latvian tourism sector organisations and enterprises in international tourism fairs and for assessment of their effectiveness.

Target group and number of persons involved

Students and educators of both partner institutions participated in the project and the results has been disseminated to a wider audience: BAT tourism bachelor students, LTDA employees, representatives of Latvian tourism sector: enterprises, destination marketing organisation representatives etc. and portal www.Tū
