Aim of the project

Alterations in the fauna of butterflies (Lepidoptera) in Latvia – indicators of Climate change.

Main activities of the project

Summarized, reviewed and publish the data on the newcomer species in butterfly fauna of Latvia, with a focus on climate change.

Field seminar to two field sites in South-eastern and South-western corners of Latvia for students and biology scientists were discussing theoretical problems and practical skills on the species identification and possible methods of climate change indication

Publishing of informative post-card with the picture of the horse-chestnut leaf miner (Cameraria ohridella), which emphasize the fact about insect spreading in Europe during the last decades.

Target group and number of persons involved

Biology, environmental, life science and environmental engineering students (24 people) and nature conservation professionals and scientists (10) of Latvia (20), Germany (3) and Lithuania (1).
