Description of the project
The project “Elaboration of Logistics RFID Technology Training and Research Laboratory” is focused on the development of methodological and technological foundation for logistics radio frequency identification (RFID) technology training and research laboratory in the field of interdisciplinary RFID applications. The laboratory is tailored to logistics, information technology, economics and business sector students training, as well as for academic and industrial partners. The laboratory activities are aimed at enhancement of students’ skills and competencies, as well as at improvement of logistics companies’ services by demonstration of the potentials and benefits of RFID technology.
The main practical outcome of the project is the logistics conveyor bench model equipped with RFID reader and RFID tags for execution of practical experiments and training sessions in the logistics area.
The project partners are Department of Modelling and Simulation of Riga Technical University and Otto‐von‐Guericke University of Magdeburg (Germany). The project is funded by the Baltic–German Liaison Office.
