Aim of the project

  1. b) Professional theatre training in Lithuania is based on sharing practical knowledge and experience of acing, however, teaching methods are lacking a methodological, research-based approach.

Now that the days of “methods” are over, educators need to change their personal conditioning. This requires the acquisition of methodological thinking upon which one’s own individual training can be developed. Furthermore, it is important to fundamentally rethink and redesign the process of knowledge acquisition of the students. Therefore, teachers must understand such new processes in order to lead them.

Dr. Jurij Alschitz has developed ground-breaking new concepts of acquiring and creating knowledge, changing the parameters of regular education. This pedagogical system is built on two columns: Quantum Pedagogy based on the wave- and resonance theory, and Holistic Pedagogy based on the spherical view on theatre.

Workshop “The New Acting Teacher” will introduce the basic concepts and show how they intertwine in everyday training. On a theoretical basis, Dr. Jurij Alschitz will give a wide range of exercises and training tasks for the acting teachers and practitioners in order to make theory applicable for daily practice

Direct and indirect target group of the project

Direct: Lecturers of Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (Vilnius and Klaipėda Faculties), theatre educators and practitioners residing in Vilnius, MA and Ph.D. students of Theatre Acting and Directing, theatre researchers (approx.. 40 persons)

 

Indirect: BA students of Theatre Acting and Directing, high school theatre teachers, theatre critics, educators, and practitioners of other art disciplines (Film, Dance, Music, Fine and Media Arts, Art History) (approx. 10 persons)
