Achieved aim(s) of the project

Researchers and students improved their knowledge on microbial genomics through participation in lecture series. Three case studies of mixed FUB/LSMU groups generated scientific data which were used to prepare the manuscript of the research paper with acknowledgment to the Baltic-German University Liaison Office financed by the German Academic Exchange Service. The final workshop increased visibility of the participants and microbial genomic emergence among the participants, strengthen collaboration of LSMU and FUB and attracted new partners for future collaboration between the Baltic countries and Germany.

Main activities and venues

Ten online lectures were organized with speakers from LSMU and FUB and invited speaker from State Serum Institute, Denmark. The lectures were attended by veterinary and food safety students, researchers of LSMU and FUB.

Three tandem groups working on individual research cases (Campylobacter, Arcobacter, and Vibrio) with online lab-work parts were implemented including presentation of results during lectures and preparation of the manuscript.

The final online workshop was organized with participants from LSMU, FUB, SSI (Denmark), Latvia and Estonia. National reference laboratories of Baltic countries delivered lectures on microbial genomics.
