Short description of the achieved project aim(s)

The project successfully initiated a collaborative effort to research ZnO nanomaterials for their application in functional composites targeting sensors, memristive switching, and neuromorphic engineering. High-yield synthesis methods for ZnO nanomaterials, including nanowires and nanoparticles, were explored for network assembly. The prepared ZnO nanocomposites were tested for their electrical and electro-optical properties, providing insights into their suitability for fast-response sensing and neuromorphic computing applications. The outcomes form a solid foundation for ongoing cooperation, with prospects for joint publications and further project development.

Public events

Dr. S. Rackauskas will give an open to general public (everybody interested) seminar „ZnO nanowire networks: synthesis, properties and functionalization“ at the group seminar of the Chair for Multicomponent Materials at the Department of Materials Science, Kiel University, on 30.10.2024, time: 11:00-12:00.
