Aim(s) of the project

The aim of this project is to organise experience exchange visit (workshop) of Latvian researchers and research assistants to German microplastic research group. During this visit there will be lecture given both by Latvian and German representative as well as practical training in laboratory and separate discussion to create future collaboration framework. Involved institutions are aiming to prepare a common project proposal to submit for Horizon Europe funding.

Public events

  • 2.04.2025, University of Hamburg – lecture by Inta Dimante-Deimantovica (Latvian Institute of Aquatic Ecology) on microplastic research in Latvia;
  • 2.04.2025, University of Hamburg – lecture by Elke Fischer (University of Hamburg) on recent findings in microplastic research field by University of Hamburg research group;

Both lectures will be open for all students and staff members and will be also available online.

 

  • 2.04.2025 – University of Hamburg , excursion through laboratories;
  • 2.04. 2025 – University of Hamburg , discussion on future collaboration;
  • 3.04.2025 – University of Hamburg , hands on microplastic purification and analysis methods (practical workshop and training).

Direct and indirect target group of the project

Direct:

  • 6 people from Latvian institute of Aquatic Ecology;
  • 6 people from University of Hamburg.

Indirect: members of both research groups, current and prospective students of both research groups.
