Aims of the project
The main goal of this project is to establish a long-term collaboration between the Department of Pediatric Surgery of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Urology of the University Hospital Frankfurt am Main. This collaboration aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, skills and scientific research between the two institutions and to promote joint research projects, clinical innovations and studies. Collaboration will be fostered in clinical and scientific research by enabling the exchange of infrastructures between the two institutions. It will also facilitate the exchange of ideas and clinical innovations, as well as best practices in pediatric surgery. This collaboration will allow physicians in training and doctoral students from both institutions to participate in joint scientific projects and exchange academic materials, as well as other educational resources.
Main activities of the project
Exchange of visits: faculty members, researchers or PhD students from both institutions will have the opportunity to visit each other’s institutions, participate in clinical rounds, and attend lectures and seminars.
Physicians, residents of researchers from German partner will participate in the Conference of Baltic Association of Paediatric Surgeons (BAOPS) in Kaunas in September 2023 and present their research findings and clinical innovations..
Public events in the frame of the project
16th Conference of the Baltic Association of Paediatric Surgeons, Kaunas, Lithuania on September 14-16, 2023. Venue: „Victoria Hotel Kaunas“. One of the speakers in the conference is Udo Rolle, Frankfurt (Germany). The conference is dedicated for the paediatric surgeons and paediatric orthopedic surgeons, also for paediatricians, neonatologists, general surgeons. It is not closed event, but specialised event, targeted for the specialists.

Direct: about 6. That is these 6 persons, directly participating in the activities.
Indirect: about 100. That is area or group of the specialists, with whom six participants will contact directly and indirectly during the project activities.
