Aim of the project

  1. To analyze the effect of AP and traffic noise on cognitive function of participants of the Heinz Nixdorf Recall study.
  2. To hold at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Latvia, a two-day scientific seminar about effects of environmental exposures on human health.

Main activities of the project

  1. Assessment of cognitive function was performed during the second and third follow-up examination of Heinz Nixdorf Recall (Risk factors, Evaluation of Coronary Calcium and Lifestyle) study located in Germany at the Department of Neurology, University Hospital of Essen, University of Duisburg-Essen, Essen, Germany;
  2. Statistical analysis of the data was performed by Dr. Tzivian and the data manager of the Department of Environmental Epidemiology of the Institute of Occupational, Social- and Environmental Medicine, Centre for Health and Society, Heinrich-Heine-University of Dusseldorf, and at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Latvia.
  3. The seminar on effects of environmental exposures on health outcomes took place at Faculty of Medicine, University of Latvia.
